Q: Should I buy a used 2000 Toyota Celica for $7700?
I’m looking to purchase a used car. Money’s not a problem, but I am very frugal. There is this car I adored when I saw it on a lot. They offer free financing and pretty fair monthly payments, as well as carfax report… but it has almost 156k mi on it, and they are charging $7700. I’ve been car shopping for a while and I really like this car… if I make an offer, I’ll probably offer a lower amount, since Blue Book price is cheaper by a few hundred bucks. I live in the US and the make is Toyota, and it’s 10 years old. Would this be a foolish buy? What’re some pros and cons?

Thanks!

A: I looked up www.nada.com and a toyota gt loses 550 bucks for high mileage and high retail is 6,200 so unless that car on the dealer lot is in super condition, or has a really large pile of options, its overpriced by about 1,500 bucks, and honestly this is a buyers market these days, if you are going to spend that kind of money, then take your time, have patience, find another low mileage celica owned by some old guy who babied it and you will probably pay a lot less, be picky, be super patient even though its hard, dealers count on people getting some emotional attachment to a car and paying too much money, my advice is what I said above, be patient, take your time, and you will find the car you want that someone did not drive the pee out of already, always take a car like this to an independent mechanic (not the dealer) a dealer is going to do or say whatever it takes to get you to buy the car, your mechanic is going to do or say whatever it takes, to keep you from buying a hunk of crap. good luck, there is a website www.samarins.com that has a ton of information about buying used cars, there are also used car reviews, this may be helpful because there are a lot of crappy cars, flood damaged cars (especially this winter) and worn out high mileage cars, this is NOT WHAT TO BUY!!! good luck hope you find the easyused , baby of your dreams!!!!

Q: I just recently bought a used 2004 toyota celica, i found some transmission problems 2 weeks later and i want.
to return it back to the dealer. Its been about 3 weeks now and i still have temporary tags. Can they do something to my credit or mess me up in any way? Do i have to give them money if i return it back to them??

A: I’m not sure what state you’re in but you need to look up the lemon law and see if you apply. If you do, the dealer may get in trouble and you may get out of the deal scot-free

good luck

Q: How much would a 1981 Toyota Celica Cost? (USED)

Q: how to ensure that the correct exhaust system is used for my toyota celica 190?
I have a 2001 toyota celica 190. when i purchased it recently it had a modified exhaust. i asked for the modified exhaust to be replaced with a standard one as part of the sale. the new exhaust was still a little noisy but i took the word of the sales man that this was normal. since then i have been informed by a mechanic that part of the modified exhaust was still in place. i was not happy with this but felt i could put up with the noise as it wasn’t too loud. the car was fine for a few weeks until i recently started it from cold and the exhaust was very very loud. it does get quieter as the engine warms up but have decided to take the car back to insist that the exhaust is replaced with the correct one. my question is (finally) how do i ensure that if the garage i bought the car from does in fact replace the exhaust like i asked them too how can i be sure they use the correct one for my car? If they use an incorrect exhaust could it damage my engine and/or seriously affect the performance of the car? thanks and sorry for the overly long question!

A: fuck you and fuck those fucking fart exhaust

Q: Why is my 1991 Toyota Celica using tires so fast?
We just bought a 1991 toyota celica for nearly nothing. We drove it a while and now it has 2 flats on the front and we are taking it to get a new set this weekend. When going over records the previous owners gave me I noticed that the tires were replaced every 6 months (once one was purchased 2 months after a new set) for almost 3 years. I know some people really keep up their cars and this was a teenage driven car, but every car I have ever owned and driven thousands of miles hasn’t needed a new set of tires at MOST once a year? What would cause this? Would like a good idea so if the tire guy tells me somethings wrong I won’t get ripped off. Thanks a bunch.
We only gave $75.00 for it and it has great gas mileage, if we can just keep it from running into tons of money elsewhere I’ll be doing allright.
But no at that price we didn’t have anyone check it out, it ran, had a decent body on it, so we bought it as is.

A: you need to have the direction of the vehicle checked out you need alignment and balancing of the tires and the vehicles suspension and axis

Q: Where’s the best place to buy new/used parts/accessories for a 2000 Toyota Celica?
Specifically I’m look for a replacement “GTS” emblem and grilles.

A: try a local junk yard the may have a few of those in there and there always pretty reasonable on pricing also,i do a lot of business at some of ours especially on small stuff like that ,but that would be the best and cheapest place to look at,good luck hope this helps.

Q: What to look for when buying a used Celica?
I am looking to buy a 2003 toyota celica gt 5 speed with 97,000 miles on it and I was wondering what i should check for before i buy it. like common problems and such.

A: Same as every other car. Make sure its been properly cared for. Look for accident damage. Worn parts.

Q: Where can i find a great used Toyota Celia in the state of NY near Syracuse?
I am looking for a toyota celica in the state of NY near the city of Syracuse…Does anyone know where i can look to find one?

A: http://www.autotrader.com/

Q: 2002 Toyota Celica lifespan?
I was planning on buying a used Toyota Celica. Just wondering if 114,000 miles on a Toyota Celica is too much.
When do these cars tend to die?

Thanks in advance

A: Yes that is waaaay too much. Most need to be rebuilt or at least have a valve job by 150,000 miles.

Q: Hi I am thinking of buying a used car. And I have got Toyota Celica on my list. What do you think?

A: i had a… 94 celica gt. it was nice looking at the time, very economical. involved in 2 major collissions and still kept ticking. never doubted its reliability. only problems i had was clutch burning out twice on it…but thats what i get for driving drunk and thinking im driving in nascar. so overall, celica is a nice cheaper sports car. the newer models are cool looking too, small backseats though.

Q: What type of AC refridgerant does a 1994 Toyota Celica use?

A: Just buy a can at the auto parts store. You can only get the new stuff. Get the can with the short hose. It will only connect to the one proper fitting on the car. If it doesn’t you need to retrofit. Ask the parts store guy. You just change the fitting. Add new refrigerant, and put a decal under the hood. You are supposed to have the old freon recycled but if your A/C isn’t blowing cool air then it has already leaked out anyway. Get a can of stop leak too.

Q: Toyota Celica in Orlando?
I’m looking for a used Toyota Celica in Orlando. I’ve check autotrader.com and cars.com and can’t find one that I want, or that’s in my price range. Can you think of anywhere else I could check?

A: Look on msn.com in the auto section too. Autotrader is the best source out there though. If you can’t find what your’e looking for on autotrader, Most likely its not avaliable. Carmax is also an option

Q: Toyota Celica?
im thinking of buying a used toyota celica GTS 2003 stickshift it has 50,000 miles on it and its 15,500 well the question is it a good deal Price and Also performance wise compared to other cars like a Civic or An Eclipse

A: 15,500 is a little high. Take a look at www.newcelica.org and check in the “car for sale” classifieds and check out www.celicatraderonline.com……..and check Ebay, you can find great deals on Ebay and they provide up to $20,000 in fraud protection.

As far as performace goes you’ll have a hard time finding a car that handles and brakes better than a Celica for the same price. Plus the GTS engine is one the most efficient engines around, gets 180HP out of a 1.8L engine! You’ll be quicker than any stock Civic and should be quicker than the N/A eclipse……don’t buy a 3rd generation eclipse, those cars are very unreliable.

BTW, I have a 2004 Celica GT with 51,000 miles for sale for $12,000 if your interested :)

Q: Is it worth trading in a 2005 Toyota Celica GT for 2004-2005 used Subaru STI?
A pros-cons list woule help too.
and maybe an estimate on how much more i would have to spend.
Thanks

A: your gas milage will be worse. and make sure you see a carfax on that. i seriously doubt your going to find a used sti that hasnt been beaten on pretty hard. youd be lucky if its even stock. anyway, if the sti is in good condition id say go for it, but the only other thing is that it wont last as long as the celica will. turbo engines dont last as long as n/a.
