Q: What is the best color combo for the 2010 camaro?
I am a 17 year old boy and I am getting a camaro as my first car. But I do not now what colors to get. I want stripes. I was thinking about gray with black stripes and also red with black stripes. Any suggestions?
A: I saw one that was gray/charcoal with white stripes, it looked sick.
Q: How much would it cost to get a Chevy Camaro repainted?
I’m planning on buying a used camaro, but I want to repaint the exterior (I don’t want any fancy designs, just a full body repaint). Rough estimates are acceptable.
A: Could be $1,000. Could be $5,000 easily. It all depends on what you want, and the condition of the car.
Q: How much would a 2010 Camaro Cost Per Month?
I am planning on working for two months or more to get atleast 2000 dollars, so then i could put that on the down payment. The camaro costs around 22,000, with its 550 per month with no down payment. But im putting 2000. And my Insurance is only around 60 dollars. I am 19 years old without any history of a ticket, or an accident.
A: I’m sure the 550 a month is for someone with a long, clean credit history, if you’re 19, I would be willing to bet you’re not going to get that rate unless you have a co-signer with top tier credit. With that said you may be able to get the $550 a month deal if you pony up more of a down payment. When I was selling cars, all the ads the dealerships I worked for put out usually stated that you had to put around 30% down and be “well qualified” to get the advertised monthly payment.
Q: How much would a 1994 Camaro z28 be to insure for a 18 year old?
I am 18 and my friend is willing to give me a good deal on his 1994 Camaro z28. I have had my license since i was 16 and have had no tickets, accidents, or anything of that sort. I have a good driving record. I live in Michigan and i was wondering how much around would i be looking at for insurance? I only want PLPD since i can fix them myself.
A: A lot. Young male with a fast car means your insurance will be very high.
Q: What do you figure a 1988 Camaro in good shape is worth?
My friend is selling his 1988 Camaro.
It’s in good shape. Looks great and runs great.
What should he ask for it?
A: $500.00
Q: How long does a 1994 Chevy Camaro last on average?
I’m wondering about how many miles will a 1994 Chevy Camaro last? Not based on how it is maintained, just on average how long do they last?
A: There are two engines available on it, a V6 and a V8
The V8 is generally considered to be more reliable (about 140000 vs 120000 miles) is average, but with GM it’s a crapshoot: either really good or really crappy car
yeah average 140000 but standard deviation is like 200000!!!!!!
Q: What is needed for a 1990 camaro rear axil replacement?
I was wondering if I could use any rear axil from a V6 camaro, or if I would Specifically need one from the 1990-92 models due to the horse power increase. Please no remarks on how that car should just be replaced with another car, the car has a lot of value to me, it’s more than just money too me, it’s part of my life, so keep your comments to yourself.
A: You will be fine with any rear axle from any 1982 – 1992 Camaro or Pontiac Firebird – V8 or V6 doesn’t matter. They are all the same length, brackets, etc. The only difference was between 9 bolt axles and 10 bolt axles – the 9 bolt axles were offered on the earlier cars with performance packages, they had positraction differential units in all of them. But the 9 bolts are getting hard to find, and replacing parts in them is getting very expensive. The 10 bolt will be fine, from any year 1982 – 1992.
Not sure what else you’re looking for in an axle. There will be single traction (one wheel spins) and positraction (both wheels spin), and there will be gear ratio differences. There is only one true way to know what you have – open it up and look. The gear ratio’s will be stamped on the ring and pinion gears inside, and you’ll just have to get someone that knows what posi looks like to show you.
If you’re looking for a more performance oriented positraction unit, a manual trans car is a good place to look – they usually had 3.42 ratio gears – not drag strip gears (3.73 or 4.10), but good power for the street without sacrificing too much mileage on the highway. V8 cars equipped with TBI units (RS models from 1988 to 1992) mostly had 2.73 gears and no posi.
You can also look at the 1993 – 2002 model year cars – same rear axles again, only slightly longer (about 1 3/4 inches each side) – this will make your factory wheels stick out a tad, but not too bad – and many of these cars had posi units in the rear ends – I put a 2002 rear axle in my 1992 Camaro. The only issue is brakes and wheels – 15 inch wheels will not clear the LS1 or LT1 rear disc brakes from the 1995 and up models – you’d have to get 16 inch wheels and a new spare.
Hope that helps – it’s a direct swap from 1982 – 2002 (except the rear disc brake issue) – takes about 3 hours in the driveway.
Q: How much would painting a 1987 Camaro cost?
I just need some fresh paint slapped on, no dent repairs or body kits, just need a new color on a white camaro.
A: Bad paint job. $300-500
Good Paint Job $600-1000
Professional paint job $1000+
Q: 2000 camaro security system proper key but wont start how to fix?
I have a 2000 v6 camaro i go to start the car security light comes on car wont start till light goes off (3 mins) now after 2 weeks it wont start at all and i do have the proper key?
Any one know how to fix this?
A: Yes you need to replace the ignition lock cylinder (passlock sensor) What happens is the passlock wires in the ignition switch are very thin and brittle and after so much turning of the lock cylinder they eventually break off and don’t send a fuel enable message to the BCM. This Theft deterrent system uses a resistor in the key and contacts in the lock cylinder to connect to the BCM. The resistance is a specific value range, 1 of 15 different resistance pellets. The BCM will only recognize the resistance if it is seen the first time it was connected and the key turned to on.
Q: What is the model of the camaro used in the movie “Transformers”?
I am hoping to buy my first car soon, and I wouldn’t mind finding an old, beatup camaro similar to the one Shai had in the movie. Does anyone know the exact make, model, and year of the vehicle used in the film?
BTW: I am asking about the older one in the movie, not the sleek new one that appeared later on.
A: It was a 1976. Great looking vehicle.
Q: Would third gen seats from a camaro fit a second gen? What other years and parts are interchangable?
Trying to sell my seats from my 89 Camaro nad people ask me what other years would they fit. I know they’ll fit fourth gen because the seats I bought are fourth, but will these fit the older gen second or even the first?
A: Are the seats power or manual?
Q: Where can I get Camaro information?
I am trying to find information concerning my 1994 Camaro Z-28. I am planning on putting a new transmission in my camaro. Also looking into rebuilding my LT1 or getting an LS1 and rebuilding over time. I need to know where I can find any of this information on the possible LT1 for LS1 swap and information on the 4L60E Transmission and what is the best route to go and best Stall converter to use if any at all. So if any one knows where to get any of this information or has any information I could use it thanks.

Q: Why is the security light on my Camaro coming on all of the sudden?
I’ve had a ‘97 Camaro for a few months and all of the sudden the security light is coming on when I try to start it disabling the starter. I’ve been using the same key the whole time. I have had no problems with this car until now. I have to wait 3 minutes and then it will start. The key is in good shape. Not dirty or wet. Is there an underlying issue I should check out? Thanks.
A: Do NOT replace the ignition by yourself! My car’s ignition was replaced by the dealer (not a Chevy dealer, just a used car lot) and now my light will NEVER go off. Take it to a Chevy dealer and they CAN help you. If it is the ignition then they will be able to fix it, but if you replace the ignition yourself then you risk having that light on forever because the ignition was not programmed into the car’s security system. The guy I got my car from said they didn’t have a key for my car and that is why they replaced the ignition but if he would have actually read the owner’s manual it says that if you take it to a dealer they can make a new key that is made specifically for that ignition. I don’t know what could be wrong with it, but if you have the funds to do so, I would take it to a Chevy dealer.
Q: How hard is it to take the transmission off of a 93 Camaro Z28?
I’m having some transmission problems and have experience in replacing clutches and motors, just not with Camaro’s. I’m wondering how hard it is to take the tranny off to check the torque converter? I know the motor rides up under neath the dash board and replacing the spark plugs is crazy hard, but what about the transmission? Thanks.
getonthebus25, are you talking about the Camaro’s spark plugs or ANY other cars spark plugs? You realize, in order to replace the Camaro’s spark plugs you have to pull the motor, right?
A: calls for about 6 hours will take you about 10 to 12 take your time and be sure vehicle has jack stands under it safety first unhook battery, remove driveshaft, put drain pan under end of trannie,to catch fluid, remove tourque convertor cover and remove tourque convertor bolt or nuts, put good jack under trans pan put a little pressure on trannie, remove trans mount bolts or nuts, remove transmission lines, then remove crossmember, let trannie down some to access trannie bolts remove all of them be very careful not to drop trans on yourself just the basic how to good luck hope this helps
Q: What is the reasonable cost for replacing ball joints in my 1995 Camaro?
I have a vibration in the front of my 1995 Camaro. I am thinking it is ball joints, bearings or struts. I have new tires on the car and they have been balanced twice. Need someone to help me narrow the problem down and let me know the estimated cost of repair.
A: Best bet would be to find a friend who can do that kind of work for you.
Ball joints for your car – well most cars have a upper and lower ball joint for each side. So you will need 4 all together. I just replaced mine on a Ford not long ago, they were like 40 bucks a piece i believe so they came to around 180 for parts. Then i paid a friend to put them on for me.
I forget what i paid him, but had i went to a shop to have it done it would have been 3-4 times as much.
Check out Auto zones website (or a similar auto parts store). You can look up the prices for ball joints for your car.
Really, a car that age if you havent replaced the struts and all that good stuff you might just want to go ahead and do alot of front end work. Replace the ball joints, struts, any tie rods or anything that look like they are going bad. Depending on your financial situation of course.
